These crazy punks announced a come back tour for 8-10 November, to mark the 30th anniversary of their single studio album, 'Never Mind the B*****ks Here's The Sex Pistols'. Two additional gigs were added to the tour after their London concert sold out in just 15 minutes of the tickets going on sale.
To help celebrate this return we have loads of free music for you to download now! Including the Sex Pistols 7" singles box set, a series of 2-track singles from the early days, including demos of Anarchy In The UK (Original 1977 Recording), No Future (aka 'God Save The Queen'), Pretty Vacant (Denmark Street Demo, July 1976) and No Fun.
History:
After breaking up in 1978, Johnny Lydon (who was also known as "Johnny Rotten"), Steve Jones, Paul Cook and Glen Matlock reformed for a world tour in 1996 and last performed together in 2003.
One of the defining records of the punk movement, 'Never Mind The B*****ks Here's The Sex Pistols', included God save the Queen and Anarchy in the UK and was released in 1977 along with great controversy but is now regarded as a landmark in British music history.
After announcing their comeback on the NME.com website, front man Johnny Lydon said: "Maybe it's because we're all Londoners, but there would be no Sex Pistols without dear old London town." He continued "From London Bridge to the Rose and Crown, all of Britain is welcome so come on down."
The NME magazine is running a campaign to get God Save the Queen to number one in the UK after it missed out the first time around. The 8th November will be the band's first live date since their Piss Off Tour in 2003 and there's no surprise that anyone with the slightest bit of interest in punk rock is keen to get their hands on tickets for one of these dates!
Kerrang! editor Paul Brannigan says "Their importance is beyond question, their songs still sound incredible played at loud volume and more than 30 years since their formation John Lydon has lost none of his acerbic bite."
