Feature by Severine, We7 PR Guru
On 16th September 1977 the T Rex front man was killed when his purple Mini, driven by American girlfriend Gloria Jones, crashed into a tree. 30 years after this tragic accident and 60 years since he was born, Marc Bolan's music is still widely spread all over the world.

On this double anniversary a series of events is taking place to mark the death of the glam-rocker. Songwriter, singer and guitarist, Marc Bolan cultivated the glam rock era and will probably stay one of the most recognisable British stars ever.

Some great quotes from the Marc Bolan interview

The poignant - "I just want to communicate with people in the little time I have left...cos I might disappear tomorrow..."

The perceptive - "...if I have an image at all it's based on the fact that what I do is truthful...to live a lie is much more painful than telling the truth..."

And the joker - "...if you're not going to have an amp anyway, you might as well stick the lead up your bum..."
