Week 4 and overall winner
we7 interviews Ian Ross
How did you go about selecting the seven songs?
Selecting seven favourite/important songs is practically impossible and, for me, would be totally different on any given day. I vaguely set out with the idea of covering the decades from the sixties (the decade of my birth) and keeping it chronological. I strayed from this, ending with Radiohead instead of Elbow. There was always going to be a Prince and a Bowie track in there but all the others could have been different depending on my mood when compiling it.
Who did you share the playlist with?
I first of all emailed a link to my brothers and sisters, not an insignificant number as I'm one of 8. There are lots of nephews and nieces too. I then sent it out to friends / work colleagues and clients. I have a Myspace page and posted a blog there which got a lot of people contacting me to say they'd been listening to it. I also put the link on my Facebook page where lots of old college friends took part.
What do you plan to do with the prize money?
We've spent the money fifty times over already and we haven't even received it yet! I'd like to get over to the States again; we went to NYC a couple of years ago and want to go back so a holiday is looking good. I also need a new laptop so that's pretty high on the list.
What do you love most about we7?
I've got four thousand things I love most about we7!
